Your role as Programme Advisor in the Spanish sales and marketing team:

  • You will work as a member of our recruitment team based in Barcelona, helping to recruit volunteers from the Spanish market
  • You will talk to potential volunteers and their parents on the phone and reply to email enquiries
  • The work is varied and may include some time travelling around Spain as well as office-based work
  • You will be responsible for managing online events, such as webinar presentations
  • You will occasionally visit schools and universities to meet potential volunteers, parents and teachers at careers fairs and other information events
  • You will be responsible for the management and training of our Ambassadors (trained former volunteers who attend events and do part time work)
  • You may be occasionally required to take part in visits to new or current destinations in order to gain experience that can help promote Projects Abroad's programmes

Our requirements

You should be:

  • A Spanish speaker to a native level
  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken
  • Ideally a graduate in Communications, Marketing or Social Sciences
  • Preferably experienced in Sales and Marketing (not mandatory)
  • Entitled to work in Spain, as a freelancer (autónomo)
  • An excellent communicator with people of all ages and backgrounds
  • Computer literate (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and the internet)
  • An enthusiastic traveller (preferably having spent some time working or volunteering in a developing country)
  • Innovative and self-motivated, relishing a new challenge
  • Enthusiastic
  • Able to remain calm and efficient under pressure
  • A team player who enjoys working as part of a team
  • Friendly and personable, you must respond well to others
  • You should be prepared to work flexible hours although a normal office day will run from 9 to 17:30. The job will include some weekend work

You will be employed under a freelancer (autónomo) system, and will be required to work regular office hours. An offer of employment is dependent upon receipt of satisfactory references and personal interview.
